Though the mission assigned to CAFRAD in the 60s is still the same, the context has considerably evolved. African countries are today facing new challenges and concerns, particularly in terms of transformation (reform, innovation and modernization), administrative structures, public services, state institutions and governance systems; the acceleration and the consolidation of economic and social development; the establishment of a democratic and effective governance; the optimal use of information and communication technology; strengthening cooperative, useful and sustainable relations between African states forward the revitalization of regional integration.
